Description

  • Develop and maintain new and existing applications for the Vanilla Platform, delivering high-throughput pages to large audiences.
  • Collaborate with the Tech Lead and other developers to refine requirements, estimate tasks, and solve complex technical challenges.
  • Build and consume robust APIs to connect the creator platform with internal services (Identity, Asset Management, Content APIs) and AI moderation tools.
  • Work with the Audience team to implement SEO and GEO-focused systems that attract and retain users.
  • Write clean, strongly-typed code with comprehensive unit and integration tests and champion best practices in code reviews.
  • Contribute to the setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and local development environments (containers) to ensure rapid, reliable deployments.
  • Design and implement performant, reusable UI components and manage SSR vs CSR considerations for modern web applications.
  • Handle data integration and marshaling from databases and various external APIs, and support operational automation where needed.

Requirements

  • Solid experience with PHP-based backend services (Laravel, Symfony, or similar) and API development following modern best practices.
  • Strong experience building complex, dynamic web applications with modern frontend tooling (TypeScript experience preferred).
  • Experience building component-based UIs using frameworks such as Alpine.js and React, and styling with TailwindCSS.
  • Familiarity with templating (e.g., Twig) and modern frontend patterns including SSR vs CSR.
  • Proven focus on code quality, typed code, and building a culture of testing and maintainability (unit and integration tests).
  • Experience or strong desire to learn workflow/orchestration frameworks such as Temporal.io for long-running processes.
  • Experience working with databases and integrating data from external APIs.
  • Operational and product design mindset: ability to solve real-world operational problems and contribute to UX, flows and feature decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with product stakeholders and participate in estimates and technical planning.
