Description

  • Lead projects end to end for high-impact platform initiatives supporting R&D, operational excellence, and business intelligence analytics.
  • Partner with engineers, scientists, product managers, and business teams to identify opportunities and build shared solutions.
  • Integrate open-source, enterprise, and SaaS technologies into the platform stack.
  • Design and ship platform architecture components that support multi-tenancy, data governance, workload isolation, and scaling.
  • Contribute to the growth of data lakehouse platforms for analytical and operational data products.
  • Improve the research platform for experimentation, MLOps, data processing, and analysis.
  • Help shape data modeling, context engineering, and semantic layers to improve data discovery and usability.
  • Advocate for a product mindset focused on developer effectiveness and platform usability.
  • Pilot AI-assisted or agentic workflows to improve productivity and share learnings across the organization.
  • Support platform users by troubleshooting issues and unblocking critical work.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience building and operating highly reliable production software systems, preferably on platform engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in Python and at least one other high-level programming language.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux fundamentals, including networking and containerization.
  • Hands-on experience operating cloud services, storage, and compute using IaC with at least one major cloud provider, preferably Azure or GCP.
  • Operational experience managing and optimizing large Kubernetes clusters, preferably single- or multi-cluster environments with thousands of nodes.
  • Pragmatic approach to reliability, observability, performance tuning, and operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Comfort with cross-functional collaboration and navigating tradeoffs.
  • BS or higher in computer science or a related technical field, or comparable experience.
  • Experience with columnar data processing, open lakehouse technologies, and table formats is preferred.
  • Experience supporting researchers, data scientists, or AI/ML teams is preferred.
  • Experience with Flyte or other modern workflow orchestrators is preferred.
  • Experience with an Everything as Code approach to infrastructure, policies, and data is preferred.
  • Experience operating production systems in Microsoft Azure is preferred.
  • Open-source contribution and maintenance experience is preferred.

  • Base salary range of $161,925 to $227,325.
