Description

  • Lead technology development aligned with FL129’s core scientific and strategic goals.
  • Develop, train, validate, and apply generative chemistry and molecular models.
  • Curate training and benchmark datasets for model development and evaluation.
  • Design and implement rigorous benchmarks to assess model performance.
  • Optimize existing workflows and establish experimental and documentation best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with the wet lab scientific team to advance key project goals.
  • Translate experimental data into actionable insights and present findings at team meetings.
  • Help influence the company’s scientific direction as an early hire.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in machine learning, computational biology, or a similar field.
  • 5+ years of industry or postdoctoral experience.
  • Strong track record of scientific and technical innovation in machine learning for molecular modeling of proteins and/or small molecule ligands.
  • Experience with computational docking methods is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SOTA models such as Boltz-2, ESM-2, Chai-2, and related tools.
  • Experience training and fine-tuning molecular models for protein language modeling, protein structure prediction, binder prediction, protein design, protein engineering, small molecule pose prediction, or related tasks.
  • Experience curating publicly available datasets, including mutational scanning data.
  • Expertise with Python or another high-level programming language and modern HPC and cloud compute workflows.
  • Strong organizational skills and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, cross-functional, and highly collaborative environment.
