Description

  • Monitor and analyze economic, political, and business trends across Sub‑Saharan Africa.
  • Forecast macroeconomic indicators and deliver ongoing economic analysis.
  • Produce concise, impactful research deliverables and short-form written analysis for a senior executive audience.
  • Deliver research presentations to senior executive clients and engage directly with C‑suite stakeholders.
  • Develop and own regional views on major political and economic issues and pressure-test those views with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to support FrontierView’s growth strategy and ongoing client relationships.
  • Manage multiple research projects concurrently, prioritizing time and project management tasks.
  • Produce syndicated content for FrontierView’s SSA client base, including forecasts and executional advice.
  • Quickly get up to speed on unfamiliar topics and cover a variety of issues as required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of work experience in a research or analysis role (contractor role).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Regional Studies, International Relations, or a related field; Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., international economics) preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of macroeconomics through prior experience or relevant coursework.
  • Passion for global politics and economics, with interest in the intersection of policy, politics, and business; exposure to developed and emerging markets preferred.
  • Experience working in cross‑cultural contexts is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English, with ability to distil complex and technical topics for non‑specialists.
  • Strong presentation, persuasion, and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior executives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, time and project management, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team‑oriented mindset, flexibility, and ability to rapidly learn unfamiliar subjects.
