Description

  • Conduct primary and secondary research on macroeconomic, political, regulatory, and business developments in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Analyze the implications of regional developments for multinational companies and their business plans.
  • Support the creation of analysis and presentations for senior executives.
  • Write concise, impactful research deliverables tailored to a senior executive audience.
  • Collaborate with the SSA Strategic Insights team and commercial team on client-facing work.
  • Help monitor developments across the SSA region and contribute to ongoing market research coverage.
  • Adapt quickly to unfamiliar topics and changing commercial priorities.
  • Support client relationships and FrontierView’s growth strategy through research and analysis.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of work experience in a research contractor or similar analytical role.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s, from a top-tier academic institution in a relevant field, ideally Economics.
  • Strong economics knowledge with the ability to apply macroeconomic principles to real-world country developments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key Sub-Saharan African markets and the region’s current socio-political and economic environment.
  • Research experience in an academic or professional setting, including hypothesis-testing, structuring complex research projects, primary and secondary research, and survey-building.
  • Exceptional English communication skills with the ability to distill complex, technical topics for non-specialists.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Familiarity with quantitative economic analysis.
  • Ability to cover a variety of topics and work on unfamiliar issues quickly.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset.
