Description

  • Identify compliance gaps and maintain a living risk register that prioritizes program focus based on likelihood and severity.
  • Design and maintain controls that translate regulatory requirements into day-to-day business practices.
  • Draft, maintain, disseminate, and version-control compliance policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Build and run a structured, risk-based monitoring and testing program with a defined calendar and methodology.
  • Log findings from tests, audits, examinations, and self-identifications, assign root causes, and drive remediation to closure.
  • Coordinate regulatory examinations, including document requests, scheduling, and examiner communications.
  • Build and maintain KPI dashboards and prepare regular compliance reporting for leadership and the board.
  • Directly lead assigned compliance staff and support their performance and development.
  • Partner with business, operations, and technology stakeholders to embed compliance requirements into operational processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial regulatory compliance.
  • At least 5 years of senior compliance experience.
  • Experience in auto lending, small-dollar consumer lending, or another highly regulated consumer lending environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state financial services laws and regulations.
  • Experience scaling a compliance program in a fast-paced, growing organization.
  • Proven experience managing a team and working with key stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with compliance risk management and governance, including risk identification, scoring methodologies, risk registers, and risk-based monitoring and testing.
  • Experience using or supporting implementation of a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform.
  • Experience drafting and managing the lifecycle of policies and procedures.
  • Certification in compliance, such as CRCM, is a plus.
  • Ability to leverage technology to improve efficiency and openness to adopting and integrating AI solutions into workflows.
  • Ability to operate independently and take ownership of complex initiatives.
