Description

  • Centralize CI/CD and deployment practices across product lines and own the rollout.
  • Contribute hands-on to containerization and deployment automation where needed.
  • Establish SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and production reliability standards.
  • Own monitoring, alerting, and observability dashboards and patterns across teams.
  • Define on-call tooling, rotation design, escalation policy, RCA, and post-incident review discipline.
  • Own operational reliability for the core production databases, including uptime, query performance, and capacity.
  • Define schema-change governance and partner on backup, continuity, and BCDR runbooks and testing.
  • Build operational metrics and executive reporting for system health, uptime, MTTR, and deployment frequency.
  • Partner on shared frontend platform standards, component libraries, and design-system/API contracts.
  • Build the team structure, hiring plan, and operating rhythm for the new function.

Requirements

  • Experience modernizing CI/CD and deployment pipelines at scale.
  • Experience with formal SRE practices, including SLOs, observability, alerting, and incident management.
  • Experience designing on-call and incident-management programs, such as with PagerDuty or equivalent tools.
  • Database reliability and operations experience, including schema governance, query optimization, backup, and BCDR for high-traffic production systems.
  • Experience leading reliability efforts in vertical SaaS, regulated, or mission-critical software; public safety experience is a plus.
  • Executive presence and the ability to communicate reliability and operational maturity to senior leadership.
  • Strong hands-on technical leadership and willingness to work directly in pipelines, dashboards, and incident channels.
  • Experience building cross-team operational standards and influencing teams without direct authority.
