Description

  • Demonstrate expert-level coding proficiency across multiple languages, frameworks, and tools used in the Filevine platform.
  • Assist in the development and launch of a new greenfield project within the Filevine platform.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and technical authority in one or more system domains, providing guidance and oversight.
  • Uphold exceptional code quality through rigorous testing, thorough code reviews, comprehensive documentation, and best-practice adherence.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Facilitate constructive resolution of technical disputes with empathy, diplomacy, and logical reasoning.
  • Engage in engineering debates and advocate for well-reasoned technical decisions with management and technical stakeholders.
  • Review Design Documents (DDs) and Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) and help shape technical standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help define and implement team-wide engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a software engineer or architect delivering measurable customer and business value through production-grade systems.
  • High proficiency in C# or Node.js; one backend opening is for Node.js and one is for C#.
  • Expert-level proficiency in multiple languages and frameworks, including .NET, AngularJS, React, Redis, Svelte, MS SQL, ElasticSearch, AWS, Playwright, Groovy, and Octopus.
  • Strong system design skills with the ability to architect scalable, efficient, and maintainable systems for high-volume, data-intensive applications.
  • Exceptional problem-solving ability with experience independently diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues under tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to high code quality standards, including rigorous testing, code reviews, thorough documentation, and engineering best practices.
  • Deep technical expertise in one or more system areas, with the ability to act as a go-to authority and drive informed technical decisions.
  • Proven mentorship experience coaching junior engineers and helping establish team-wide engineering practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts and resolving disputes diplomatically.
  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent certifications and substantial relevant professional experience.
