Description

  • Provide technology and product consulting and technical sales support for account opportunities.
  • Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to customers, prospects, and channel partners.
  • Support RFI and RFP responses.
  • Organize and lead customer Proof of Concept activities, including success criteria and lab work.
  • Design networking solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Participate as a technical specialist on virtual teams and contribute to team activities.
  • Support customer evaluations and detailed design requirements.
  • Build trusted-advisor relationships with customers and partners.
  • Assume team-lead responsibility for account teams when business needs require it.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Requirements

  • Successful presales engineering experience in a similar role, industry, and territory.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Sound knowledge of Layer 2/3 switching, IPv4/IPv6 routing, overlay networking, VPNs, Wi-Fi design, and network security.
  • Hands-on lab experience and ability to support customer designs and Proofs of Concept.
  • Ability to work with customer project teams on solution design and PoC labs.
  • Experience with major accounts and closing deals.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with customers and partners, including trusted-advisor experience.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking, virtualization, network management and orchestration, SD-WAN, automation scripting, and APIs is advantageous.
  • Ability to understand future technology trends and market direction.
  • Extreme Networks or recognized industry certifications are desirable but not mandatory; partner-training experience is a plus.
