Description

  • Design and administer cloud-native data systems using AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, Redshift, Aurora, S3, and MWAA-Airflow.
  • Design and implement scalable data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, bulk ingestion, and transaction processing.
  • Collaborate with product management, analytics, customers, and teammates to translate business needs into well-designed data models.
  • Assemble large and complex data sets that meet functional business requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain ETL processes to ingest, clean, and transform complex healthcare data.
  • Automate manual processes to improve data delivery and reduce operational friction.
  • Monitor and tune data pipelines and storage for performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Implement caching and data partitioning strategies to improve query efficiency and reduce processing times.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship within the data engineering team.
  • Implement data security measures, governance standards, and access controls while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role with demonstrated technical leadership experience.
  • Expertise building and administering AWS-native data systems, including Redshift, Aurora, RDS PostgreSQL, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and MWAA-Airflow.
  • Experience writing views, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Strong Python and SQL experience, including advanced query design and database optimization.
  • Experience with healthcare data such as Medical Claims and Rx Claims.
  • Ability to develop subject-matter expertise and partner thoughtfully with business teams.
  • Reliability in delivering accurate work in a timely manner.
  • Passion for working with a team to improve how data drives meaningful outcomes.

Benefits

  • Anticipated annual base pay of $130,000 to $150,000 plus additional variable compensation based on performance.
  • Competitive compensation package that may include variable pay depending on seniority, location, and date of hire.
