Description

  • Edit short-form paid ads for Meta, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms to maximize performance.
  • Build high-retention hooks within the first 3 seconds and optimize pacing, rhythm, and visual pattern interrupts.
  • Tailor edits to specific campaign objectives (acquisition, retargeting, education, AI-native creative, etc.) and adapt style by ICP, funnel stage, and platform norms.
  • Rapidly iterate and produce multiple creative variations for A/B testing to increase creative testing velocity.
  • Identify winning creative patterns from data and apply those learnings to new edits and scalable templates.
  • Recreate and improve reference styles while contributing ideas to improve creative briefs and overall strategy.
  • Maintain brand consistency and visual cohesion across paid and organic channels while balancing performance-driven edits with brand trust and tone.
  • Troubleshoot and creatively solve footage or production limitations, improving average footage quality through editing choices and mixed-media approaches.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years of professional video editing experience with a strong portfolio of short-form, performance-driven ad creatives.
  • Proficient in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, with comfort switching tools when needed.
  • Basic After Effects skills (text animation, motion graphics, light VFX) and basic Photoshop for asset preparation.
  • Strong audio fundamentals including music selection, sound design & SFX, sync & pacing, and basic mixing.
  • Demonstrated experience in paid social, direct response, and performance marketing environments.
  • Deep understanding of how editing drives conversion and retention, with a strong instinct for hooks, pacing, and audience psychology.
  • Ability to identify winning ad patterns, systematize them, and scale successful creatives.
  • Proactive learner who studies platform trends, competitor ads, and evolving creative formats and independently seeks new techniques and tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills: translate creative briefs into edits, accept feedback, iterate quickly, and explain editing decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Comfort thriving in a fast-paced testing environment and adapting editing approach to campaign objectives and audience.
