Description

  • Supervise and manage staff providing technical assistance to small and underserved water and wastewater utilities nationwide.
  • Support utilities with funding, design, construction, and maintenance of sustainable and resilient water infrastructure.
  • Assess innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies and develop resources supporting their adoption.
  • Evaluate the design, costs, feasibility, and environmental impacts of infrastructure projects.
  • Guide the preparation, review, and delivery of preliminary engineering reports.
  • Manage environmental sampling and field survey programs, analyze results, and prepare technical reports.
  • Provide guidance on federal water and wastewater funding programs, including State Revolving Fund requirements.
  • Lead business development, client relationship development, proposal preparation, and capture activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical, environmental, civil, or related engineering.
  • 20–25 years of progressively responsible experience in water resources management, wastewater treatment, and municipal water and wastewater system design.
  • Expertise developing comprehensive engineering reports from preliminary assessment through final design.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of federal water and wastewater funding programs, financing mechanisms, and eligibility requirements.
  • Experience in an engineering consulting environment, including project management, client development, proposal preparation, and contract delivery.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and managing technical staff while meeting quality, client, project, and financial objectives.
  • Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate teams and build productive client and stakeholder relationships.
