Description

  • Lead major compliance projects, including implementing new regulatory requirements, integrating compliance for new market access or trading venues, and driving remediation and control enhancements.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Define project scope, success metrics, and implementation plans for compliance initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Own compliance responsibilities for assigned regions or regulatory domains.
  • Interpret and apply relevant regulations across the US, Europe, and Asia to HFT operations.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting requirements, including transaction, position, large trades, and capital reporting.
  • Manage regulatory examinations and inquiries.
  • Prepare and file required regulatory documents and notifications.
  • Serve as the compliance point of contact for assigned business areas and projects.
  • Present project updates and compliance metrics to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree or JD preferred.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as Series 7, 24, 57, or international equivalents.
  • 7-10+ years of compliance experience in financial services.
  • At least 3 years of experience in electronic or algorithmic trading.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to HFT operations.
  • Strong project management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Previous experience at a proprietary trading firm or HFT-focused organization, preferred.
  • Understanding of trading strategies and their regulatory implications, preferred.
  • Experience with regulatory bodies, industry groups, or compliance/reporting tools in the trading industry, preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership in regulatory change projects, preferred.
