Description

  • Test and compare server and networking hardware for performance, stability, and compatibility.
  • Own hardware acceptance processes, including burn-in checks, firmware and BIOS baselines, and known-good configurations.
  • Plan and coordinate hardware maintenance and upgrades across multiple sites.
  • Coordinate installations and maintenance with onsite providers and contractors, reviewing evidence and ensuring quality execution.
  • Document test results, approved SKUs, configuration standards, and maintenance runbooks.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and support spares and RMA decisions.
  • Maintain hardware inventory documentation and participate in scheduled on-call rotations for network operations and incident response.
  • Travel internationally for deployments and complex troubleshooting as needed.

Requirements

  • Understanding of server hardware, including CPU, RAM, storage, NICs, firmware, BIOS, and FPGA components.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
  • Basic Linux skills for testing and benchmarking.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Structured troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including willingness to develop nonstandard solutions.
  • Ability to coordinate external providers and drive tasks through completion.
  • Ability to document results and make data-based recommendations.
  • Willingness to travel internationally from time to time.
  • Bare-metal fleet experience or laboratory and burn-in testing background preferred.
  • Optics and cabling validation knowledge and vendor or procurement coordination experience preferred.
