Description

  • Design, build, maintain, and deploy embedded software for vehicles, equipment, GPS trackers, and keypads.
  • Own the full engineering lifecycle of embedded applications from prototype through production.
  • Develop system architectures and integrate embedded systems across hardware platforms.
  • Read schematics and PCB layouts to design, debug, and validate software and hardware solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, leadership, and hardware development teams.
  • Conduct testing and analysis to improve system efficiency, stability, scalability, security, and reliability.
  • Design modular and reusable software architectures for multiple hardware platforms.
  • Create and maintain APIs, user guides, testing procedures, design documentation, and system reports.
  • Support customers with system integration and deployment.
  • Secure wireless communications and protect firmware against tampering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience designing electronic hardware for the automotive or heavy equipment industry.
  • Strong knowledge of CAN, USB, Serial, I2C, and SPI communication buses.
  • Experience designing hardware solutions with PIC and ARM embedded microcontrollers.
  • Experience designing multilayer PCBs using Altium Designer or similar EDA software.
  • Experience with hand tools and soldering equipment.
  • Experience with server-side ingestion of IoT data preferred.
  • Experience across the full product lifecycle, from prototype to production.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to review schematics and designs collaboratively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to ambiguity, and learn new tools and technologies.
  • Broad hardware and software expertise, with the ability to work across both disciplines.
  • Ability to lift 5–10 pounds, sit or stand for prolonged periods, and safely maneuver around industrial equipment as needed.
  • Employment is contingent on passing a background check and, for some roles, a drug test.
