Description

  • Prepare and file routine sales/use tax, property tax, and other non-income tax returns accurately and on time.
  • Gather and organize source data needed for tax filings, including invoices, fixed asset records, accounting data, and sales data.
  • Maintain and monitor the tax compliance calendar to prevent missed deadlines.
  • Process tax payments and confirm timely remittance to the appropriate jurisdictions.
  • Reconcile tax data against general ledger accounts and source systems.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between reported data and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready files and documentation for all filings.
  • Research basic taxability questions and monitor changes in tax rates, rules, and filing requirements.
  • Support senior staff with tax research and more complex planning projects.
  • Respond to tax notices and assist with audit support, tracking open items and follow-ups.
  • Maintain proficiency in tax software and systems and help improve or streamline compliance processes.
  • Keep internal trackers and spreadsheets updated for filings, payments, and deadlines.

Requirements

  • 1–5 years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, with an accounting focus preferred.
  • Understanding of accounting and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft products.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Tax experience preferred.
  • Remote working experience preferred.
  • Non-income tax or indirect tax experience preferred.
  • Experience with tax software and systems such as Quorum, Tax Research software, Databricks, or PTMS.
  • Remote work is considered except for applicants located in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless willing to relocate.
