Description

  • Maintain and evolve core business reporting to analyze fluctuations across core businesses and isolate underlying causal factors.
  • Build, maintain, analyze, and leverage time series forecasting methods to anticipate ecosystem trends and inform planning.
  • Develop and maintain core data models that improve consistency, efficiency, and analytical leverage across the department.
  • Perform executive deep dives on high-priority Fortnite ecosystem topics and translate complex analysis into clear leadership narratives.
  • Build deep product understanding and become an expert on all analytics data collected.
  • Own the quality of data reported by Epic’s products and partner with engineering and QA to monitor and improve it.
  • Support users of the self-service data pipeline by helping them understand, access, and summarize data appropriately.
  • Collaborate with the ecosystem analytics team to improve data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a related field.
  • Expertise with SQL and Python.
  • Familiarity with time series modeling.
  • Demonstrated skill in predictive analytics in complex, high-dimensional environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership and C-suite executives.
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary video games and analytics best practices.
  • Expertise with machine learning and PySpark preferred.
  • Experience with time series forecasting libraries such as Prophet preferred.
  • Experience developing and leveraging AI workflows preferred.
  • Experience with causal inference methods preferred.
  • Passion for the gaming industry preferred.
