Description

  • Own and evolve Epic’s native iOS app across iPhone and iPad.
  • Own the reading experience, including the in-house book renderer and audio-text sync.
  • Own offline reading, in-app purchases, and the App Store release pipeline.
  • Drive app performance, stability, and quality.
  • Partner with Android, backend, and web teams on shared features.
  • Grow into a cross-platform mobile engineer and contribute to Android over time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and shipping native iOS apps to the App Store.
  • Strong Swift and UIKit experience, with comfort working in a mixed Swift and Objective-C codebase.
  • Proven depth in custom UI/text rendering and/or real-time media-audio synchronization.
  • Solid understanding of the iOS app lifecycle, including concurrency, thread-safety, local persistence, in-app purchases, CI, code signing, TestFlight, and App Store releases.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with SwiftUI and Swift Concurrency (async/await) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AVCadence for audio-text sync is preferred.
  • Experience with encrypted media playback is preferred.
  • Accessibility experience on consumer or kids' products, including VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, and WCAG, is preferred.
  • Interest in cross-platform mobile development and some Android/Kotlin awareness is preferred.
