Description

  • Design and develop robust, scalable backend systems.
  • Build highly performant microservices and APIs that power data visualizations.
  • Design and maintain SQL and NoSQL database systems.
  • Develop and operate highly available, event-driven systems such as Kafka.
  • Improve application scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Apply continuous integration and test-driven development practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering and cross-functional teams.
  • Learn and work with complex systems and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of demonstrable experience building complex backend systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Node.js.
  • Advanced knowledge of system architecture and database design.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases; PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch are desired.
  • Experience building and maintaining highly available event-driven systems, such as Kafka.
  • Experience developing performant microservices and APIs.
  • Experience addressing scalability requirements and improving system performance.
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration tools.
  • Prior experience with continuous integration and test-driven development.
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Full-stack, graph database, or startup experience is preferred.
