Description

  • Partner with the VP of Compliance and Quality to execute the hospice compliance strategy.
  • Monitor federal and state regulatory changes and assess their organizational impact.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, state licensing requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Lead the Clinical Compliance and Audit sub-team and manage clinical and technical audit functions.
  • Design and maintain risk-based internal audit plans and analyze findings for systemic issues.
  • Translate audit findings into targeted clinical education initiatives.
  • Own corrective action plans from root cause analysis through resolution and re-monitoring.
  • Manage policy development, review cycles, regulatory alignment, approvals, version control, and distribution.
  • Conduct and document internal compliance investigations and escalate matters requiring legal or external review.
  • Oversee incident, complaint, grievance, and external audit response processes, including TPE, CERT, and UPIC reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Active RN license.
  • Clinical experience in hospice or home health.
  • At least 5 years of healthcare compliance, quality, or regulatory affairs experience, including 2 years in leadership.
  • Knowledge of Medicare hospice Conditions of Participation, state licensing requirements, and CMS audit processes.
  • Experience developing corrective action plans and managing policy governance programs.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to turn audit data into actionable recommendations.
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field preferred.
  • Healthcare compliance certification such as CHC, MatrixCare or comparable EMR experience, multi-state hospice compliance experience, and internal investigation experience preferred.
