Description

  • Partner with product and engineering teammates to deeply understand user problems and define effective experiences.
  • Design coherent, scalable workflows that integrate compliance, instruction, and assessment across the platform.
  • Conduct user research, discovery, usability testing, and experiments to validate hypotheses and inform decisions.
  • Create and iterate on concepts through sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and LLM-assisted code prototypes.
  • Own the design direction for a product area and continuously improve solutions based on feedback and outcomes.
  • Use and contribute improvements to Backpack, the company’s design system, to maintain consistent product experiences.
  • Build effective cross-functional feedback loops and advocate for design thinking and best practices.
  • Communicate design rationale and tradeoffs clearly in critiques and cross-functional discussions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of successful cross-functional product design experience in B2B SaaS or an adjacent environment.
  • Experience conducting field user research and usability testing, synthesizing findings for cross-functional teams.
  • AI fluency, including using LLM-assisted prototyping to accelerate ideation and validation.
  • Ability to design accessible experiences with accessibility embedded throughout the design process.
  • Systems-thinking approach to creating coherent experiences across connected workflows.
  • Experience using experiments, product learnings, and behavioral outcomes to iterate on designs.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with product and engineering partners and communicate tradeoffs clearly.
  • Empathy for diverse users and openness to feedback and iterative critique.
  • Boston-area location preferred.
  • New England-based employees must travel to Boston at least 2 days per month, 10 times per year.
