Description

  • Lead the technical delivery of a 12-engineer team to deliver high-impact business and customer outcomes.
  • Shape technical direction and partner with Product Management on critical company-wide objectives.
  • Own large, ambiguous technical and product problems with company-wide impact.
  • Write code hands-on and implement the most critical, complex, and foundational system components.
  • Influence roadmaps across organizations and help break down silos in technical decision-making.
  • Architect foundational systems that enable new product capabilities and operate reliably at scale.
  • Drive engineering and operational excellence, including reliability, scalability, execution rigor, and maintainability.
  • Provide architectural leadership through design authorship, critical reviews, and ongoing technical oversight.
  • Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar through coaching and example.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 12+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience working on a consumer user-facing team rather than a platform or developer-facing API product team.
  • Strong depth across at least three areas, such as frontend, mobile, search, databases, storage, concurrency, or modern ML and LLM-based APIs and agentic frameworks.
  • Experience leading technical work across team boundaries and influencing org-level decisions.
  • Ability to work in a virtual-first environment.
  • Preferred: experience working on a consumer-facing product onboarding flow on web.
  • Expected participation in on-call rotations for teams operating services that use them.
