Description

  • Own significant features and services end to end within the team’s domain.
  • Architect systems using patterns that support iterative, autonomous development and future scale.
  • Minimize cross-service dependencies by applying bounded contexts and containing failures.
  • Ship production-ready, self-documenting code and set the team’s standard for AI-assisted development.
  • Apply TDD, refactor for testability, and ensure untested code never reaches merge.
  • Diagnose issues across services, improve monitoring, and use operational and business metrics to guide stability and performance work.
  • Participate actively in the team’s on-call rotation.
  • Review code for vulnerabilities and design features with security and abuse scenarios in mind, including rate limits, velocity checks, and idempotency.
  • Anticipate and communicate blockers, delays, and cost overruns early, and drive dependencies to resolution.
  • Mentor teammates, build redundancy in critical areas, and maintain runbooks and ADRs.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years building production software.
  • Deep ownership of services in a live, revenue-carrying system.
  • Strong depth in at least one of the company’s stacks: TypeScript, Go, or C#.
  • Solid working knowledge of Postgres and AWS.
  • Ability and curiosity to become productive in the other supported stacks.
  • Real domain expertise covering service interactions and data flows, not just code you personally wrote.
  • Strong security and abuse-awareness, including OWASP knowledge and correct handling of secrets and sensitive data.
  • Understanding of payment-surface threats such as card testing and credential handling.
  • Good judgment in balancing cost against value, including evaluating when AI saves time versus adds risk.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences, plus comfort with feedback and respectful disagreement.
