Description

  • Lead end-to-end UX research studies across large, ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Define research questions and methods that inform product decisions.
  • Conduct exploratory, evaluative, and longitudinal research, including ethnography, usability studies, and concept testing.
  • Partner with PMs, designers, product marketing, data science, customer support, sales, and engineering to connect research with user feedback loops.
  • Develop deep understanding of customer goals, workflows, mental models, and friction points to guide the product roadmap.
  • Synthesize research findings into clear, actionable outputs such as frameworks, highlight reels, and journey maps.
  • Coach PMs and designers to plan and run their own research and increase research adoption across teams.
  • Manage research operations systems for participant recruitment, feedback management, and insight sharing.
  • Introduce new methods, tools, and rituals to improve how research is conducted, managed, and shared.
  • Host and manage Insight Safari programming to bring employees closer to the voice of the customer.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of UX research experience.
  • Experience working closely with product and design teams, not solely in an agency role.
  • Experience building a collaborative research practice within a product organization and mentoring or training others.
  • Experience building and maintaining research operations systems for study participation, feedback, recordings, and insights.
  • Track record of concretely influencing product and strategic decisions.
  • Ability to scale a research practice using AI tools while maintaining research integrity.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative UX research skills across methods such as 1:1 customer interviews, unmoderated studies, short- and long-form surveys, sales and support data mining, and online community research.
  • Excellent synthesis and storytelling skills for complex information and data.
  • Strong product sense and ability to turn noisy insights into clear, actionable decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to catalog research data for future access.
  • Ability to operate with high autonomy across research coordination, facilitation, and synthesis while balancing rigor with speed.
  • Base salary range of $166,000-$225,000/year.
