Description

  • Build, maintain, document, and evolve shared design system components, tokens, and patterns.
  • Design highly interactive components and translate design specs into production-quality code.
  • Partner with product designers to close the gap between Figma designs and shipped product experiences.
  • Review designer pull requests and design system contributions from feature engineers.
  • Improve product accessibility through direct product contributions and support for other teams.
  • Provide flexible, opinionated components that help product squads work without forking the system.
  • Maintain and improve design system documentation so engineers and designers can self-serve.
  • Contribute to evolving team workflows and ways of working across design and engineering.
  • Mentor designers working in hybrid design-and-engineering practices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years building products in a role that spans both design and engineering.
  • A portfolio, live project links, slide deck, or video walkthrough that demonstrates technical skill and design taste.
  • Experience building or maintaining a product design system at production scale, including tokens, component APIs, versioning, migration paths, and documentation.
  • High-polish front-end skills, including motion.
  • Fluency in Figma for creating resources designers need.
  • Clear communication across different media so others know how to use the design system.
  • Experience designing and building accessible products beyond color contrast, including keyboard navigation, focus management, screen reader behavior, and ARIA labels.
  • Ability to build and maintain production-quality components using modern React, including hooks and composition patterns.
  • Ability to design strongly typed component APIs.
  • Proficiency with CSS modules and CSS custom properties, with discipline to use semantic tokens over primitives.
  • Preferred experience working on design systems for complex products in creative tooling or similar spaces.
  • Preferred familiarity with headless CMS tools, Electron apps, and adjacent technical systems.
  • Preferred experience using AI in design system workflows, including agent skills, rules, and automations.
  • Preferred experience with internal tools and resources for design, prototyping, and spec implementation.
  • Ability to include the word "analog" as the first word in the cover letter.
