Description

  • Architect and maintain modular data models in Snowflake using dbt and industry-standard modeling methodologies such as Kimball.
  • Write and tune advanced SQL to improve query performance, cost efficiency, and resource usage in Snowflake.
  • Implement and manage automated testing, monitoring, and alerting to ensure data accuracy, freshness, and lineage.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to define KPIs, gather requirements, and translate business logic into technical specifications.
  • Own the full data lifecycle from ingestion through production-ready data marts and BI dashboards.
  • Apply software engineering best practices, including Git, CI/CD, and technical documentation, to data development.
  • Continuously refactor legacy code and data structures to improve maintainability and scalability.
  • Support cross-functional business teams such as Finance, Operations, Sales, and Marketing with analytics solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a highly technical BI role.
  • Mastery of complex SQL, including window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning for large-scale datasets.
  • Proven experience building production-grade dbt projects, including macros, seeds, and testing suites.
  • Strong understanding of Snowflake features such as clustering, virtual warehouses, and zero-copy cloning.
  • Deep knowledge of dimensional modeling, fact/dimension design, and data warehousing principles.
  • Experience delivering end-to-end data solutions in a cloud warehouse environment.
  • Ability to communicate technical details effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Availability to work US Eastern (EST) hours.
  • Preferred experience with Python for data scripting or automation, data observability tools such as Monte Carlo or Elementary, high-growth startup environments, and cybersecurity.
