Description

  • Work with internal engineers and the open source community on feature requests and bug fixes.
  • Proactively identify and resolve ambiguity in product requirements.
  • Integrate software products with existing defense systems while maintaining interoperability and security compliance.
  • Own architecture decisions and help ensure technical quality across the engineering team.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting the production environment.
  • Develop documentation such as design specifications, user manuals, and maintenance guides.
  • Contribute to open source projects and participate in community channels such as Slack and GitHub Issues.
  • Mentor other engineers and help raise engineering standards across the team.
  • Influence product direction based on user needs and system constraints.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends to inform product improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building software tools focused on the software lifecycle and management.
  • Proficiency in Go; proficiency in other modern programming languages is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of system design, APIs, databases, and cloud architecture such as AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with OCI specifications, including image and distribution.
  • Experience with supply chain security concepts such as SBOMs and security scanning.
  • Familiarity with core Kubernetes concepts.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with open source projects and communities such as CNCF, Apache Software Foundation, or OpenSSF is a plus.
  • Ability to travel 5-15%.
