Description

  • Plan, author, and maintain installation guides, administrator and operator guides, troubleshooting runbooks, and release notes aligned to product releases and operational needs.
  • Create and maintain Warfighter-focused end-user guides.
  • Develop step-by-step installation and deployment documentation, including prerequisites, expected outputs, verification steps, and safe rollback guidance.
  • Document administration and day-2 operational workflows such as upgrades, configuration changes, health checks, resource considerations, and failure modes.
  • Build troubleshooting-by-symptom runbooks with diagnosis steps, likely causes, resolution paths, and prevention guidance.
  • Aid development of training modules and job aids for different user personas.
  • Work in a Git-based documentation workflow using issues, pull requests, reviews, templates, and issue tracking.
  • Organize technical documentation to improve information architecture, navigation, and discoverability while avoiding duplication across products.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Delivery to translate technical design and implementation details into validated customer guidance.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience writing technical documentation for software platforms.
  • Experience producing installation guides, administrator/operator manuals, troubleshooting guides, and runbooks.
  • Ability to interpret design documents and technical specifications and turn them into clear guidance.
  • Experience in airgapped, disconnected, limited-connectivity, regulated, or government environments is preferred.
  • Strong collaboration skills with engineering and delivery teams.
  • Proficiency with Git-based documentation workflows.
  • Experience with Markdown, static-site documentation frameworks, review cycles, and issue tracking.
  • Background in DevSecOps, infrastructure, or Kubernetes-adjacent systems is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel 4-12 times per year.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
