Description

  • Lead implementation of a new accounting system and establish robust finance processes and SOPs across entities.
  • Re-engineer workflows (including payroll) using automation and AI with a target to reduce manual work by ~50%.
  • Own daily cash flow reporting and the end-to-end monthly close process, ensuring books are accurate and insight-ready.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L variance analysis, departmental budget reports, and a weekly performance pack focused on key business drivers.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure audit-ready books and consistency of the chart of accounts across business units (Education, Newsletter, SaaS, Renewals).
  • Manage deferred revenue schedules and ensure accurate revenue recognition for high-ticket products ($5K–$30K), payment plans, and subscriptions in line with IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Reconcile merchant accounts, payment processors, and banking across multi-entity structures and track renewal rates, churn, and recurring revenue pipelines.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities: maintain rolling financial models, departmental budget trackers, cash flow forecasts (6–12 months), headcount planning, and cost-optimization projects.
  • Directly manage the Financial Controller and Accounting & Payroll Specialist to deliver timely payroll, AP/AR, reconciliations, and to drive reporting from inconsistent to standardized outputs; assist with crypto transaction reconciliation and treasury reporting.
  • Own accounting systems, track corporate filing and compliance obligations across jurisdictions (UAE, US), and support external audit and tax advisor relationships.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years in hands-on finance or accounting roles, including at least 5+ years leading a team with full end-to-end ownership of monthly financial statements in a managerial capacity.
  • Hands-on experience managing a finance/accounting team and developing/documenting SOPs for core accounting processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of deferred revenue, subscription accounting, crypto/digital asset accounting, and multi-entity consolidation.
  • Experience with high-volume merchant account reconciliation and payment processors across a multi-entity structure.
  • Multi-jurisdiction experience (UAE and US preferred) and familiarity with corporate filing/compliance across those jurisdictions.
  • Advanced proficiency in cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or equivalent) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills for financial modelling.
  • Deep understanding of revenue recognition principles across different product types and full conversance with both IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Demonstrable, prolific use of AI tools with clear examples of how AI is applied to finance workflows.
  • Familiarity with performance marketing cost structures (CAC, ROAS, LTV) is a plus.
