Description

  • Build a query engine that supports efficient relationship traversals for demanding workloads.
  • Contribute to the design of high-priority platform projects that improve value, resilience, and scalability.
  • Drive and guide architectural decisions across the platform.
  • Identify system risks and reliability trends and design solutions to address them.
  • Provide input on engineering priorities, planning, and roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with internal product teams on requirements and product growth as they integrate with REDAPL.
  • Contribute to data ingestion, processing, and query pipeline decisions.
  • Lead and collaborate on projects both within and outside the platform team.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience working with multiple types of data stores.
  • Several years of experience contributing to platform- or infrastructure-focused initiatives.
  • Experience leading impactful technical initiatives where performance, cost efficiency, ease of use, and resilience/operability are key concerns.
  • Significant backend engineering experience building and operating distributed systems at high scale.
  • Experience with graph databases such as Neo4j, Memgraph, JanusGraph, ArangoDB, Amazon Neptune, or PuppyGraph is preferred.
  • Production-grade experience with Apache Iceberg is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of query planning, or production-grade experience with query engines or related projects such as Trino, Calcite, Substrait, or DataFusion, preferably demonstrated through open-source contributions or PMC membership.
