Description

  • Partner with Sales, Product/Engineering, Customer Success, Professional Services, and executive leadership to communicate Datadog’s value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
  • Lead technical strategy for short-term and long-cycle pursuits, managing the end-to-end technical sales agenda from pipeline generation through purchase decision.
  • Technically close complex opportunities using competitive knowledge, technical credibility, and strong technical skill.
  • Present at executive and technical forums, lead workshops, and translate technical details into business impact for stakeholders including CIOs, SRE/Platform teams, security/compliance, and engineering leadership.
  • Support and qualify opportunities with customers and partners through sales presentations, product demonstrations, and technical evaluations or POVs.
  • Maintain accurate CRM notes and capture customer feedback from both wins and losses.
  • Proactively communicate customer and market feedback, including product input and competitive landscape insights, to Datadog business and technical teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years in a Sales Engineering or DevOps Engineering role.
  • Experience programming or scripting in one or more languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD and IaC workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to land net new logo accounts and work through long, multi-quarter or multi-year sales cycles.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to explain both business benefits and technical advantages of the offering.
  • Ability to build and execute an evaluation plan with a customer.
  • Ability to sit up to 4 hours while traveling to and from client sites.
  • Ability to travel by auto, train, or air up to 45% of the time.
