Description

Own the web platform layer including the web framework, design system, CMS, infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, AI-enabled translation, and SDLC agents.
Define the technical roadmap for component systems, rendering architecture, CMS, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling.
Help shape the north star architecture for the platform and serve as a primary author of it.
Partner with technical leaders across web and marketing engineering on shared architectural decisions.
Pioneer an AI-native SDLC by applying agentic workflows across code generation, testing, review, deployment, and production monitoring.
Define evaluation frameworks, guardrails, and feedback loops to make agentic workflows reliable and production-grade.
Influence technical leaders across the organization and contribute to Databricks’ broader AI-native engineering direction.
Mentor and grow engineers on the team and set standards for AI-native execution.
Drive technical transformation through stack consolidation and platform-level standards adoption at scale.
Make and execute multi-layer architectural decisions on a live production platform.

Requirements

12+ years of software engineering experience with a strong record of technical leadership and impact.
3+ years of engineering leadership experience owning software systems for a team.
Proven leadership of a web platform with ownership across design systems, rendering frameworks, edge delivery, CI/CD, and infrastructure.
Deep hands-on expertise with the full web stack, including React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
Demonstrated ability to make and execute architectural decisions on a live production platform.
Experience sequencing and executing frontend framework migrations without disrupting production.
Clear point of view on AI-native software development and a track record of building toward it.
Familiarity with agentic systems or LLM-powered tooling is a strong plus.
Strong ability to influence technical leaders and drive alignment across engineering and business stakeholders.
History of driving technical transformation through stack consolidation or platform-level standards adoption at scale.

Benefits

Zone 1 salary range of $198,200 to $272,600 USD.
Eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
Equity may be included in the total compensation package.

Compensation determined by factors such as skills, experience, certifications, training, and work location.
