Description

  • Conceptualize and design captivating book covers and illustrations according to guidelines from production managers and authors.
  • Collaborate directly with authors and production managers to ensure designs align with authors' visions and expectations.
  • Create visually compelling illustrations using AI tools that meet Spines.com's quality standards.
  • Adapt artistic style to suit a diverse range of genres and project demands.
  • Deliver high-quality work on tight deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Manage multiple illustration and cover-design projects simultaneously while maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Iterate on designs based on feedback from authors, production managers, and internal reviews.

Requirements

  • Proficient in English with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in illustration and book cover design, supported by a portfolio showcasing past work and creative process.
  • Experience creating illustrations with AI-assisted tools or a willingness to use AI tools to meet production standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team and with authors.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and a drive to continuously improve craft.
  • Familiarity with the publishing industry and cover design standards (advantageous).
