Description

Design, implement, and maintain a robust, efficient, and compliant application data repository and integration architecture.
Troubleshoot, expand, and optimize existing data integrations and data architecture.
Refactor and migrate legacy structures and code into cloud and service-based architectures.
Work with business and IT stakeholders to resolve data-related technical issues and provide application support.
Coordinate and oversee third-party engineers through solution design, code reviews, and process reviews.
Identify and implement process improvements, including automation, data delivery optimization, and infrastructure redesign for scalability.
Research and analyze new technologies, methodologies, and architectures for viability.
Build and maintain service-based architecture for web and mobile applications.
Contribute to frameworks, guidelines, best practices, and examples for secure, accurate, and compliant data structures and integration processes.
Implement telemetry, quality metrics, and access controls to monitor performance, accuracy, and compliance.

Requirements

7+ years of data engineering experience in an oversight capacity.
Extensive domain-specific experience in the financial services industry.
Experience with Microsoft cloud-based technologies in a hybrid architecture.
Advanced Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL expertise, including T-SQL, query design, execution plans, indexing strategies, partitioning, statistics, and concurrency/isolation levels.
Strong data modeling knowledge, including 3NF normalization, denormalization for read models, star/snowflake schemas, surrogate and natural keys, referential integrity, and temporal tables.
Experience performing operational analysis on internal and external data and processes to identify failure points and improvement opportunities.
Experience designing API-oriented schemas for web and mobile application performance and optimization.
Knowledge of data preparation, metadata, dependencies, lineage, compliance, and workload management.
Security and governance experience with RBAC, least privilege, secrets management, PII handling, encryption, row-level security, auditing, and compliance standards such as SOC2, HIPAA, and GDPR.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure DevOps CI/CD, ETL/ELT and data movement tools such as SSIS, ADF/Azure Data Factory, dbt, or Airflow, plus CDC/change tracking, bulk load methods, APIM, Service Bus/Event Grid patterns, Python, and MDM concepts.
