Description

  • Serve private equity portfolio companies by evaluating accounting, finance, and operations practices and recommending efficiency improvements.
  • Advise clients on inventory management strategies, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Develop and operationalize US-GAAP-compliant inventory accounting policies, including capitalization thresholds, reserve methodology, and month-end close procedures.
  • Design, implement, and optimize standard costing systems to improve product-level profitability insights.
  • Build budgeting, cost control, and performance evaluation frameworks using actual-versus-standard cost analysis and variance reporting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with portfolio company leaders and private equity sponsors while collaborating with internal teams to deliver client work.
  • Contribute to firm-approved AI-enabled client solutions and help identify compliant opportunities to apply emerging AI tools.
  • Participate in business development by marketing services and leveraging relationships to generate new opportunities.
  • Mentor junior team members through coaching, feedback, performance reviews, and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in FP&A, preferably in a private equity-backed company.
  • Manufacturing and distribution industry experience.
  • Strong background in cost accounting, including standard costing, activity-based costing, and variance analysis.
  • Deep experience with inventory operations and accounting, including plant controllership responsibilities.
  • Experience working with controller groups and accounting teams and understanding income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow drivers.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including macros and pivot tables, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, or SQL is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.
  • Ability to responsibly explore and adopt firm-approved AI tools and emerging automation technologies.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior team members is preferred.
