Description

  • Build and enhance the payment platform’s core backend services and features.
  • Deliver new features and platform improvements from design through deployment and support.
  • Work closely with Frontend and Mobile Engineering teams to integrate frontend UI with backend services.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Design and build services with maintainability, performance, and security in mind.
  • Support high-availability, scalability, workflow automation, infrastructure orchestration, queueing, APIs, and protocol integrations.
  • Write high-quality code optimized for performance and scalability.
  • Help keep the team current with the evolving technology stack and ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Backend Engineer.
  • Fluent written and spoken English skills.
  • Strong experience coding in multiple programming languages and their ecosystems.
  • Experience with JavaScript (Node.js), Python, Golang, and/or C/C++.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and/or non-relational databases such as Redis.
  • Strong understanding of web semantics.
  • Knowledge of revision control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of standard development pipelines, including build and automation tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience developing APIs for other products is a plus.
  • Experience with message queues such as Kafka, NSQ, Pulsar, or RabbitMQ is a plus.
  • Experience integrating APIs from other service providers is a plus.
  • Proven experience working with performance budgets is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cryptocurrencies or other digital assets is a plus.
  • Community talks, certifications, and/or blog posts are a plus.
  • Open source contributions or tools developed for personal or professional problems are a plus.
