Description

  • Build and enhance the payment platform's core services and features.
  • Deliver new platform features and ongoing product enhancements.
  • Design and implement services with maintainability, performance, and security in mind.
  • Work with frontend and mobile engineering teams to integrate user interfaces with backend systems.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders across planning, design, implementation, deployment, and support.
  • Write high-quality code that supports performance and scalability goals.
  • Help keep the engineering team current with the evolving technology stack.
  • Contribute to automated workflows, infrastructure orchestration, queueing systems, APIs, and protocols such as GraphQL and gRPC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Backend Engineer.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Strong coding experience across multiple programming languages and their ecosystems.
  • Experience with JavaScript (Node.js), Python, Golang, and/or C/C++.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and/or non-relational databases such as Redis.
  • Strong understanding of web semantics.
  • Knowledge of revision control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of standard development pipelines, including build and automation tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience developing APIs for other products (preferred).
  • Experience with message queues such as Kafka, NSQ, Pulsar, or RabbitMQ (preferred).
  • Experience integrating APIs from external service providers (preferred).
  • Proven experience working with performance budgets (preferred).
  • Knowledge of cryptocurrencies or other digital assets (preferred).
  • Community talks, certifications, blog posts, or open source contributions are a plus.
