Description

  • Advise People and business leaders on hiring, performance management, employee relations, investigations, accommodations, leaves of absence, compensation, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Provide legal guidance on workforce planning, reorganizations, reductions in force, and other organizational changes.
  • Partner with Human Resources to develop and implement employment-related policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor and advise on employment law developments across the United States, Europe, and APAC.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local U.S. employment laws and applicable European employment regulations.
  • Partner with external counsel on country-specific employment issues and labor law requirements.
  • Advise on cross-border employment matters, including international hiring, mobility, remote work arrangements, and employee transfers.
  • Lead or support internal workplace investigations involving complaints, misconduct, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other sensitive matters.
  • Manage employment claims, agency charges, demand letters, and litigation in coordination with outside counsel.
  • Review and draft employment-related agreements and support due diligence and integration activities for acquisitions and strategic transactions.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • At least 6 years of in-house employment law experience, preferably in a high-growth technology company.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. employment laws, including federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience advising on European employment laws and practices across multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and managing employment disputes.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide practical, business-focused advice in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Preferred experience supporting multinational technology companies, mergers and acquisitions, international expansion, works councils, collective consultation requirements, employee representative bodies, cross-border employment issues, and GDPR-related employee data considerations.

  • Competitive, location-based base salary of $200,000 to $250,000.
