Description

  • Define the creative vision for each interactive project, turning briefs and new technologies into compelling experience concepts.
  • Stay involved throughout production to ensure the final experience matches the original ambition.
  • Set and maintain a high standard for design, motion, and interaction quality across studio work.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of designers, creative technologists, and producers.
  • Serve as the primary creative contact for client teams and balance business goals with experience quality.
  • Pitch new ideas and present finished work to build client confidence in the studio's judgment.
  • Track emerging interactive formats, hardware, and platforms and recommend relevant opportunities to clients.
  • Introduce AI-assisted tools into the creative workflow where they improve concepting, prototyping, or content production.
  • Guide spatial and environmental design alongside interactive content so physical and digital elements feel unified.
  • Collaborate with production, fabrication, and technology partners to keep concepts buildable, staffable, and maintainable on-site.
  • Stay current on trends in interactive art, entertainment design, and consumer technology and bring that perspective into studio work.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a creative role focused on interactive, digital, or experience design, including several years directly managing a team.
  • A portfolio showing range across interaction design, visual design, and concept development.
  • Direct experience partnering with enterprise or consumer technology clients and navigating complex stakeholder groups.
  • Willingness to work hands-on in the tools, not only review others' design files.
  • Working understanding of what is possible on today's hardware and software.
  • Current, real experience using AI tools in the creative process.
  • Comfort working from early concept sketches through rapid prototyping to finished, fabricated, on-site experiences.
  • Familiarity with the broader interactive and immersive landscape, including AR, VR, projection, and sensor-driven installations.
  • A portfolio piece that demonstrably improved audience engagement time, preferred.
  • Recognition from peers or industry press for work you led, preferred.
  • Clients who specifically request you by name for challenging projects, preferred.
  • Background in large-scale experiential production, preferred.
  • Location in Seattle or San Diego, preferred.
