Description

  • Scope multiple potential AI resilience interventions simultaneously and hand them off to future owners.
  • Map the context in which AI-related risks or opportunities arise and identify where interventions are needed.
  • Draft clear write-ups describing the risk, the proposed intervention, the relevant stakeholders, and the rationale for action.
  • Work with domain experts to validate feasibility and with stakeholders to assess whether an intervention would be sufficient.
  • Identify the people best suited to advise, steer, fund, and eventually lead each intervention.
  • Collaborate with recruiters to pitch potential founders for new organizations and introduce them to funders.
  • Work closely with Atlas leadership and the founder cohort to develop and advance intervention concepts.
  • Develop and iterate on intervention ideas across a range of AI resilience topics, likely including cybersecurity, datacenter security, and epistemic security.
  • Research the skills, experience, and market context needed to recruit the right owner for each effort.
  • Drive progress with limited oversight and share updates on opportunities and next steps.

Requirements

  • Experience navigating or modifying complex systems, whether natural or human-made.
  • Generalist ability to quickly understand nuanced topics across domains.
  • Meaningful experience in at least one cybersecurity area, such as software security, vulnerability analysis, hardware security, supply chain security, identity and authentication systems, or privacy engineering.
  • Meaningful experience in at least one strategic cybersecurity area, such as cybersecurity strategy, red teaming, threat intelligence, cyber-defense coordination, policy, or risk analysis in highly complex environments.
  • Meaningful experience in at least one epistemic security area, such as media forensics, deepfake detection, content provenance, platform trust and safety, content moderation, recommender integrity, information operations analysis, election security, democratic resilience, or public trust measurement.
  • Experience with strategic technological or product planning, technology roadmapping, multi-year strategic planning, or working in an ARPA-like entity.
  • Strong ability to interview experts and synthesize across domains.
  • Comfort forming and revising hypotheses quickly, with strong creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to reason about AI trajectory, safety, and future-state technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, plus comfort with uncertainty and a high degree of ownership.
  • Preferred: work authorization to work in the US and ideally eligibility for a US security clearance.
