Description

  • Monitor the daily operational status of energy storage and solar assets and create trouble tickets to track and prioritize issues.
  • Manage asset dispatch and respond to changing operating conditions to maximize plant safety and efficiency.
  • Monitor SCADA data, plant parameters, sensor outputs, weather, demand, and curtailment inputs to support operating decisions.
  • Respond to alerts, document faults and actions taken, and maintain accurate shift logs in monitoring and ticketing systems.
  • Escalate significant issues to vendors, partners, data carriers, and the Field Operations team.
  • Support troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance in coordination with field technicians and other stakeholders.
  • Respond to emergency response calls and act as an initial responder and escalation point during incidents.
  • Follow approved procedures for routine operational tasks such as switchgear operation and equipment start-up/shutdown.
  • Coordinate with customer, vendor, and partner contacts regarding forced or scheduled outages.
  • Identify recurring problems and opportunities for operational improvement while adhering to regulatory and contractual requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience operating computers while multitasking across multiple SCADA systems used to monitor and control plant operations.
  • Experience using supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems or asset/building management systems to monitor and run energy assets.
  • Experience operating assets for an electrical utility, renewable energy provider, or other municipal service provider.
  • Experience using and controlling electrical meters, relays, PLCs, and RTACs.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical engineering concepts.
  • Alignment with Convergent’s mission and values and a strong interest in the clean energy transition.
  • Ability to support a role with 5% travel, primarily for team events and company-wide meetings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Experience operating battery energy storage systems or monitoring renewable or traditional generating facilities strongly preferred.
  • ITIL, NERC, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available at this time.

  • Base salary range of $70,000 to $85,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
