Description

  • Own the end-to-end month-end close process across the US, Greece, and Brazil.
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements under US GAAP.
  • Ensure intercompany eliminations, currency translation, and reconciliations are accurate.
  • Deliver close within established timelines with full documentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for outsourced accounting teams in the US, Greece, and Brazil.
  • Set quality standards, review deliverables, and hold outsourced firms accountable for accuracy.
  • Assess outsourced firm performance within the first 90 days and recommend changes if needed.
  • Supervise the junior FinOps associate handling payments, billing, and expense review.
  • Establish and enforce internal controls, approval workflows, and compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Act as the quality gate for financial data, resolve recurring accuracy issues, document processes, and support external audits.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including consolidations.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Experience managing or working closely with outsourced accounting teams.
  • Fluent English, written and verbal.
  • Hands-on, doer mentality.
  • Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency environments.
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • CPA or equivalent local certification preferred.
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with Brazilian and/or Greek accounting standards preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Xero preferred.
  • Portuguese or Spanish fluency in addition to English preferred.
