Description

  • Lead day-to-day management of construction activities across multiple data center projects to ensure completion on schedule, within budget, and meeting quality expectations.
  • Manage, mentor, and coordinate external construction project managers and internal resources to foster a collaborative, high-performance project culture.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and internal teams for owner-furnished equipment procurement, delivery, and buyout to align materials with project schedules and budgets.
  • Enforce jobsite safety and compliance with company safety plans, policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Secure entitlements and permits, and obtain approvals from local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Collaborate with design and construction teams to develop and maintain project schedules that achieve critical milestones and support successful turnover.
  • Prepare and oversee construction estimates, project budgets, unit cost reports, and continuously track costs, allowances, and contingencies to inform executive decision-making.
  • Lead pre-award and pre-construction meetings, participate in value engineering, negotiate scopes of work and contracts, and manage change orders and monthly pay request reviews.
  • Coordinate closely with commissioning teams to ensure vendor/contractor alignment for successful customer turnover and manage final project closeout including as-built drawings and completion documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of construction project management experience, including at least 5 years in the mission-critical or data center industry.
  • Proven leadership experience managing complex, large-scale construction projects and mentoring project teams.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for engaging clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, cloud-based commissioning platforms, and financial management tools.
  • Deep understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices, with specific knowledge of the Ashburn, VA market preferred.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and within Canada and a valid driver’s license.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. (company is unable to sponsor or transfer employment visas).
  • Experience within the Columbus area market is strongly desired (preferred).
