Description

  • Manage vendor bidding and proposal processes, including budget and scope negotiations.
  • Develop clinical trial budgets, payment terms, justifications, and fair market value assessments.
  • Negotiate budgets, payment schedules, and scopes of work with industry partners and oversee revisions.
  • Ensure budgets, scopes, and contractual terms flow down appropriately to vendors and participating sites.
  • Maintain budget trackers, records, trial documentation, and organized department files.
  • Serve as a liaison to industry partners, vendors, internal stakeholders, and participating sites.
  • Analyze and present budget reports, provide recommendations, and monitor financial-system allocations.
  • Track protocol amendments, enrollment closures, study completion, and other updates affecting scope or budget.
  • Create and improve standard operating procedures, metrics, templates, tools, and reporting processes.
  • Support the Associate Director of Industry Sponsored Trials with department operations and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Six years of direct experience developing and negotiating clinical trial budgets and scopes of work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or four additional years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with industry budget development and negotiations.
  • Experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis, including knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
  • Experience or knowledge of nonprofit budgeting, complex clinical trial budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Experience managing bids or proposals with external vendors.
  • Strong budget negotiation, mathematical, reasoning, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and common desktop and web applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize short deadlines, and work with limited supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Annual salary range of $91,910–$137,348, with a typical hiring range of $91,910–$114,629.
