Description

  • Define the new Node.js runtime protection product, including what is intercepted and the customer-facing surface.
  • Choose the technical approach for instrumentation, deployment shape, and programming language.
  • Build and ship the product end to end using the provided tooling and infrastructure.
  • Develop and refine detection methodology for identifying malicious, vulnerable, and legitimate-but-unusual patterns.
  • Use CloudLinux’s cross-layer threat intelligence and security signals to improve detection.
  • Work with company architects while owning the overall technical direction.
  • Measure and optimize the product against runtime overhead, false positives, false negatives, and customer escalation volume.
  • Drive both the research and development needed to bring the product into production fleets.
  • Operate hands-on across the full lifecycle rather than handing work off to other teams.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with the Node.js runtime and the JavaScript ecosystem.
  • Strong web application security fundamentals and current knowledge of practical exploitation.
  • A working understanding of how detection rules behave at scale and avoid flagging legitimate code.
  • Ability to own the work as PM, architect, lead engineer, and QA for the product.
  • Willingness to be hands-on every day and proactively ask for resources or help when needed.
  • Comfort directing AI coding agents to high-quality output (preferred).
  • Prior work on runtime-protection products, application firewalls, or instrumentation tooling (preferred).
  • Background in malware analysis or incident response (preferred).
  • Familiarity with managed-hosting environments (preferred).
  • Public security research, vulnerability disclosures, or authored detection rulesets (preferred).
