Description

  • Build and maintain ClickHouse Cloud’s billing and metering platform.
  • Design and implement mission-critical processes that support core business operations.
  • Develop secure, efficient, mature, and highly available frameworks and platforms.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define business strategy, user needs, and technical solutions.
  • Integrate the platform with external systems such as billing, metering, logging, monitoring, and support tools.
  • Work across frontend and backend technologies as part of the billing engineering stack.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to improve reliability, scalability, privacy, security, observability, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Lead and ship large-scope technical projects with multiple engineers.
  • Build and operate high-scale distributed systems across the full software lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant software development experience building cloud-based front-end systems.
  • Hands-on experience leading and shipping large-scope technical projects with multiple experienced engineers.
  • Experience with TypeScript, Serverless, EKS, SQS, Mongo, Node.js, and React.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages preferred.
  • Experience with billing concepts such as credit card processing, usage-based billing, metering, CSP marketplaces, invoicing, sales tax, auditing, and record-keeping.
  • Strong ownership and experience building and operating high-scale, distributed systems.
  • Experience with a public cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and their infrastructure-as-a-service offerings.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well across teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and solid production debugging skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high responsibility, ownership, and accountability.
