Description

  • Develop and evolve data ingestion applications using AWS tools in serverless architectures and ECS-based environments.
  • Understand technical needs by participating in discovery sessions, inceptions, and requirement refinements.
  • Write and structure automated tests to ensure delivery quality.
  • Perform code reviews and deploy changes to production.
  • Manage incidents and support production stability.
  • Optimize data jobs and pipelines by improving partitioning, skew handling, and performance tuning.
  • Design and maintain pipeline orchestrations using AWS Step Functions and AWS EventBridge.
  • Set up and monitor observability using AWS CloudWatch and, preferably, Datadog.
  • Apply FinOps practices to optimize cloud resource usage and reduce data solution costs.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Python and hands-on experience with PySpark.
  • Practical experience with AWS, including S3, Glue, EC2, Lambda, and Athena.
  • Experience with serverless architectures and AWS-based data processing tools such as Glue, Lambda, SNS, SQS, Kafka, or ECS.
  • Experience automating unit tests and using test automation within a test pyramid strategy.
  • Experience with relational databases.
  • Experience refining technical stories and solution design.
  • Strong coding quality and programming best practices.
  • Clear communication skills to align with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to execute proactively and take ownership.
  • Experience applying cloud cost optimization and FinOps best practices to data pipelines.
  • Preferred experience with generative AI, agents, and skills to accelerate work.
  • Preferred experience with LocalStack and AWS infrastructure as code.
  • Preferred experience with Datadog.
  • Preferred experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, SQS, and SNS.
