Description

  • Technically lead and enable multidisciplinary teams of data scientists and data engineers to build, enhance, and maintain data products.
  • Design, architect, and participate in solution discussions for data platforms, pipelines, data lakes, data meshes, and related data products.
  • Visit European clients for a few weeks each year to bootstrap projects and establish/expand relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with strategy, customer experience, product, and program management teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Ensure solutions follow security, performance, privacy (e.g., GDPR) and other non-functional best practices.
  • Create and maintain design documentation and other client-required artifacts.
  • Communicate and align technical solutions with customer teams and present technical capabilities to non-technical audiences.
  • Understand requirements, translate business problems into viable technical designs, select appropriate frameworks, and guarantee a stable development environment.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience with the Databricks data platform, including setting up workspaces, Delta Lake, ingestion/transformation workflows, and data catalogs.
  • Solid experience in architecture design and technical leadership for data platforms and products.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying data pipelines, data lakes, data meshes, and other data products.
  • Experience translating business problems into data solutions (BI, analytics, deterministic/statistical models, and machine learning).
  • Cloud experience with Azure or AWS.
  • Experience identifying, gathering, and prioritizing non-functional requirements, technical pain points, and environment/client constraints.
  • Experience scaling data workloads using platforms such as Hadoop and Spark.
  • Experience with CI/CD and MLOps pipelines and with Infrastructure as Code.
  • Ability to create proofs of concept and implement complex mechanisms in code (preferably Python).
  • Experience collaborating with pre-sales and presenting data solutions to non-technical audiences; willingness to mentor and share knowledge with junior team members.
  • Fluent English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with testing approaches (unit, integration, end-to-end) and non-functional concerns (performance, security, privacy/GDPR).
