Description

  • Oversee financial and accounting service delivery for assigned clients across accounting, AP, AR, grant tracking, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Review financial statements prepared by Accounting Teams to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts and provide insight into clients’ financial condition.
  • Lead annual financial and governmental A-133 audits, including work paper preparation and liaison with auditors.
  • Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of all compliance reporting.
  • Serve as a fiscal liaison to authorizers, counties, and state and federal agencies.
  • Train client staff on internal controls and ensure they are properly implemented and followed.
  • Work with organizational leaders and executives to communicate financial information effectively.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with client leadership and staff.
  • Mentor Charter Impact team members to support professional growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting is highly desired.
  • 7 years of experience is required, including some experience overseeing and developing staff.
  • Experience in a professional services firm, such as a CPA firm, is a plus.
  • Experience in charter school finance and operations is a plus.
  • Non-profit accounting experience is a plus.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly desired but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct or similar non-profit accounting systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a close team environment with clients and Charter Impact staff.
  • Self-starter who can prioritize and multitask without daily direct supervision.
  • Must be based in AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, MI, NV, OR, SD, TX, UT, or WA.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
