Description

  • Oversee financial and accounting services for assigned clients, including financial statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense tracking, grant reporting, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Review financial statements prepared by accounting teams to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts and provide insight into clients’ financial condition.
  • Lead annual financial and governmental A-133 audits, including work paper preparation and liaison with auditors.
  • Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of all compliance reporting.
  • Serve as a fiscal liaison to authorizers, counties, and state and federal agencies.
  • Train client staff to ensure internal controls are properly implemented and followed.
  • Communicate financial information clearly to organizational leaders and executives.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with client leadership and staff.
  • Mentor staff and support continued professional growth within Charter Impact teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting is highly desired.
  • 7 years of experience is required, including some experience overseeing and developing staff.
  • Experience in a professional service firm, such as a CPA firm, is a plus.
  • Experience in charter school finance and operations is a plus.
  • Non-profit accounting experience is a plus.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly desired but not required.
  • Strong ability to work in a close, highly collaborative team environment with clients and internal staff.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multitask without daily direct supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct or similar non-profit accounting systems.
